The 226th Topical Symposium of the Magnetics Society of Japan/ The 74th Technical Meeting on Spintronics

Spin × Sensor × IoT IoT will play an important role in forthcoming Society 5.0, where sensor devices are a key ingredient as they gather various information in physical space. Recently, R&D for the novel sensors based on magnetics and spintronics have been actively carried out. In this symposium, we invite outstanding lecturers involved with sensor technologies. New developments of magnetocapacitance effects In recent years, magnetocapacitance (MC) effect, in which the capacitance changes by magnetic field, has been observed in a wide range of materials and devices, such as multiferroic materials, spintronic devices, magnetic supercapacitors, and organic heterojunctions, and it has attracted much attention. Particularly, in the spintronic devices, MC effect has been found in magnetic tunnel junctions, magnetic nanogranular films, molecular spin valves, and magnetic single-electron transistors, and is one of the popular topics. Development of TMR sensor for product applications and recent progress of next-generation magnetic field detection techniques Development of TMR sensors for product applications using magnetic tunnel junctions is progressing due to dramatic improvement in sensor sensitivity. Recent progress of researches on various applications of TMR sensor will be introduced. Additionally, magnetic field detection technology based on the new principle will be presented. Magnetic field detection techniques, which utilize, Faraday effect, plasmon and spin-wave, are expected to be applied to magnetic sensor devices in the future and are also interesting from the scientific point of view. シン(Shin) Thermoelectric Exchange Materials Thermoelectric exchange materials are research topics as a promising technique for energy harvesting. For several decades, many approaches have emerged for discovery of novel and/or reliable thermoelectric exchange materials. These approaches contain variety of materials with multi-scale; i.e. multinary thermoelectric compounds, low-dimensional materials, magnetic materials, and electronic functionality in interfaces between solids. Recent developments on thermal transfer control, which can be correlated with magnetic polarization and be accelerated by computational science, will open a new science and engineering.
