The 217th Topical Symposium of the Magnetic Society of Japan

シン(Shin) Thermoelectric Exchange Materials

Thermoelectric exchange materials are research topics as a promising technique for energy harvesting. For several decades, many approaches have emerged for discovery of novel and/or reliable thermoelectric exchange materials. These approaches contain variety of materials with multi-scale; i.e. multinary thermoelectric compounds, low-dimensional materials, magnetic materials, and electronic functionality in interfaces between solids. Recent developments on thermal transfer control, which can be correlated with magnetic polarization and be accelerated by computational science, will open a new science and engineering.
In this symposium, a wide variety of topics related with “真(シン)”, “振(シン)”, “薄:thin (シン)”, and “新(シン)” will be introduced by five outstanding lecturers in this field. These Kanji are implying “intrinsic”, “thermal vibration”, “thin films or boundary”, and “novel”, respectively. We look forward to your active participation.
