Openly seeking symposium proposals for IcAUMS-ISAMMA 2020 (the 44th Annual Meeting) to be held at Okinawa Convention Center in 2020. Please use it positively as a place for new activities.

Application procedure

  1. Download the following application form

  2. Enter 1) the symposium title, 2) Main organizer name and his/her contact information, and 3) other organizer names.
  3. Symposium format
    Select A) or B);
    A) A session consisting only of invited talks recommended by the organizers
    B) A session consisting of invited talks recommended by the organizers AND contributed talks desired to be presented at the symposium
  4. Describe the reason for the symposium proposal.
  5. List the invited speakers and the titles of the invited talks. (Tentative title is acceptable.)
  6. Fill in any requests or remarks.
  7. Send the application form to the secretariat of the Magnetics Society of Japan by E-mail or FAX.
  8. Decision letter will be sent to the main organizer in early May.
  9. Download the symposium program composition form. (in preparation).
  10. In the case of symposium format A)
    ・ The organizers request the speakers to write the abstract and register. (Registration deadline: July 31)
    ・ Select the chairs, write the program on the prescribed form, and send it to the secretariat. (Deadline: mid-August)
  11. In the case of symposium format B)
    ・ The organizers request the speakers to write the abstract and register. (Registration deadline: July 31)
    ・ The Secretariat sends a list of contributed talks to the main organizer in early July.
    ・ Select the chairs, write the program on the prescribed form, and send it to the secretariat. (Deadline: mid-August)

Notes

  1. The purpose of symposium is to widen the field of activities of members and to promote the further activation of magnetism and magnetic engineering.
  2. All members of AUMS are eligible to be symposium organizers.
  3. Organizers cannot be speakers in the same symposium.
  4. The abstract and talks of the symposium will be in English.
  5. The speakers of the symposium have to submit the abstract by the deadline. If no submission, the talks may be considered canceled.
  6. The acceptance or rejection of the symposium will be determined by the Planning Committee. The acceptance is comprehensively determined based on the following guidelines;
    ・ Urgency of the theme (focused topics such as important discoveries, technological developments, new research trends, measures, etc.)
    ・ Diversity of themes as a whole symposium (Themes must not overlap.)
    ・ Must be fresh and attractive to many members
    ・ Expected to encourage open exchange of information
    ・ Expected to have large audience
    ・ Including talks with various aspects of the theme of the symposium
    ・ Neutral in the affiliation of the speakers
  7. The Planning Committee may ask you to revise the contents.
  8. The abstracts will be made available to members two weeks before the date of the conference.
