The 199th Topical Symposium of the Magnetic Society of Japan / The 54th Topical Symposium of Nano-Bio Magnetics

Wireless Energy Transmission
Role of Magnetics and Biomedical Applications

Wireless energy transmission is widely utilized in various practical uses. Although there is an eddy current loss to a certain extent, a magnetic field is transmitted through the human body. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables cross-sectional imaging with less influence from skull or pelvis. This advantage arises from transmission of the magnetic field through the body. The magnetic field is also expected to be utilized for various biomedical applications as functions of heating, transportation, power feeding. Since the research group at MIT has reported the experimental result on the magnetic field resonance method in 2007, research and development on the wireless energy transmission technology including wireless power supply to electric vehicles (EV) have become more active. In this symposium, the present status and future prospects of wireless energy transmission for bio-medical applications and magnetic resonance coupling method are discussed. We look forward to your participation in this exciting event.
