Recent Topics of Research in Magnetism and Industrial Applications using Neutron Scattering and Prospective View with the World Highest Neutron Source at J-PARC

The neutron is an indispensable and nondestructive probe particularly for the investigation of magnetism. The Materials and Life science experimental Facility (MLF) with the world highest pulsed neutron source in Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) is now under construction. The first neutron beams are scheduled to deliver to the several neutron spectrometers installed at MLF in May, 2008. Much progress in research of magnetism is expected using intense pulsed neutrons at this facility in near future. This symposium provides an opportunity to introduce the performance of the spectrometers, and prospective sciences in magnetism and industrial applications at MLF will be discussed as well as the recent topics of research using neutron scattering. We would like to invite you to join this symposium.
