Topical Symposium
The 171st Topical Symposium of the Magnetics Society of Japan
The 10th Special Meetings on the Application of High Magnetic Fields

Magnetic fields and living body
- interaction among them, medical applications -
The magnetic fields are utilized in our daily life in various ways. Recently, high magnetic fields are applied not only for scientific use but also for common use such as MRI, therefore, the opportunity of exposure against high magnetic fields is increasing for people. Even though the effects of magnetic fields on human or living bodies have attracted much attention through the ages, the understandings about the interaction among them were deepened only recently. Owing to this improvement of understandings, the applications of magnetic fields are increasing such as a tool to investigate the brain function, or as the way of medical treatment. In this topical symposium, recent progress of the research concerning to the magnetic fields and living bodies such as the effects of static and alternative magnetic fields on living bodies, the research about the brain function utilizing the magnetic stimulation technique, the medical treatment using the magnetic fields, the development of the transmission technique of signal and electricity aimed for the medical use, will be introduced and discussed. We are looking forward to your participation to this topical symposium.
